Held once every four years, Taiwan International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition Kicked Off in Nangang

Held once every four years, Taiwan International Textile & Garment Machinery Exhibition ran from September 13 to 16th this year on the Ground Floor of the Nangang Exhibition Hall. The exhibition was co-hosted by the Taiwan Sewing Machinery Association and Chan Chao International Co., Ltd. in affiliation with the Taiwan Garment Industry Association and the New Taipei Sewing Machine Association. The exhibition was also further supported by several domestic and overseas textile industry associations. Exhibitors from 11 different countries and regions including China, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korean, Singapore, Taiwan, England, and the United States, over 100 brands had been invited to attend the show for a total of over 330 exhibition booths. It was the only platform that serves as a one-stop shop for Taiwan's textile and garment industry for the purchasing of all types of professional textile manufacturing and automation equipment.

Under the trend of Industry 4.0, for stayed abreast of full automation tendency, the productivity improvement and the manufacturing process simplification of machinery equipment is regarding as the top objective persistently. Such as the BTSR device from Italy presented by CHEMTAX Far East improves the production capability and product quality by providing yarn control system, Charming Star introduces Electronic Fully Automatic Covering Machine increases the production speed, reduces the operation noise, lower the machine parts abrasion and deliver the accurate data. Furthermore, INL from Singapore presented the smart suspension system and Digital Printer of Kornit from Israel…etc. Featured products all demonstrated the smart manufacturing paths for the future business opportunities in Textile industry.

For knitting machinery, Italy's SANTONI, LONATI, Germany's STOLL, Taiwan's San Da, Wellmade, Tien Yang, and Kauo Heng presented the world's finest circular knitting machines, horizontal knitting machines, and sock making machines. Top embroidery brands including Japan's Tajima, BARUDAN, and Germany's ZSK. Almost all major sewing equipment brands were exhibited, including Japan's major house-hold sewing brands JUKI and Baby Lock, industrial sewing machinery included BROTHER, PEGASUS, KANSAI, VI.BE.MAC. from Italy, Taiwan's SIRUBA, Shing Ling, Kingtex, Yao Han and more. Other products contained the leader of cutting and spreading machinery TSM, Gerber showcased the garment design and auto-manufacturing system and the dyeing machinery of Huah Jen Precision, all of them are the dignitaries in its’ professional field.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a "Seminar of Textile Trends and Economic Foresight" were held during the exhibition. Well-known speakers from Taiwan as well as overseas had been invited to discuss and present their views on future developments in the textile industry with other industry members to together discuss how best to address a changing market outside of the current industry, as well as operation strategies to adopt. The speakers included previous FDRA President, Peter T. Mangione, who analyzed "Trump's Trade War-- Impact on Taiwan" from the perspective of the industry and American market; C.L. Shen, Team Lead of the Taiwan Textile Research Institute's Smart Textiles Team, who presented on the topic of "Innovation and Challenges of Smart Textiles", and how Taiwan's textile industry is well-positioned to fill the smart textiles niche; Senior partner of tech company ThreadSol, Kundan Sengupta were on the other hand give a talk on the topic of "The Current Global Sourcing Trends and How AI, Big Data and IoT Based Mobility Can Prepare Garment Manufacturers Stay in the Game".
